WHO WE ARE, WHAT WE THINK, AND WHY WE DO IT.
We are a family of 9. Five sons, two daughters, Mama and Pop. Though we are grateful for many of the technological advances that make our lives easier, we often find ourselves longing for a simpler way of life: evenings by the fire sharing a read-aloud; lazy summer days with kids in the tree fort or biking down the dirt road; a meal shared with good friends sharing good stories and a bountiful table with food that you raised yourself.
As simple as it seems, there are a lot of complex choices that go into reclaiming our land, our families, our time and even our traditions. We like to think that the things we do make a difference…in the way we treat our children, our animals, our soils, our friends, our customers. We like to think that what you do makes a difference too, so thank you for thinking that these things are important and for believing in something so much you act like you believe it.
LOCAL
ALBUQUERQUE
We are a small family farm located in the rich Rio Grande Bosque of Albuquerque’s south valley. We are glad to provide a much needed service to people in and around Albuquerque as purveyors of free-range eggs, grass-fed beef, and grain-fed pork. When what you buy in the supermarket barely counts as food, we are glad to be a part of providing whole, real, farm fresh, good food to our neighbors.
Thanks for stopping in.
NATURALLY RAISED
NATURALLY GOOD
Our animals enjoy low stress lives and are healthy and happy, which is good for them and good for you. We never treat our livestock with hormones, antibiotics or growth promoting additives and they live a very happy and productive life; which makes for delicious, healthy real food.
SMALL FARM
FAMILY OWNED
Lorenzo and Donna are originally city slickers, but we knew that Green Acres was the place for us, so we moved out of the city and into farm livin’. There are many reasons why living on a farm is so appealing to us, not the least of which is that it helps us feed our seven children. But aside from that, it builds a great work ethic and teaches independence. All of our kids are involved in not only the work of the farm, but the decision-making as well. Everyone has a job, from egg collecting to weeding, feeding the cattle, and also marketing, distribution channels, and customer service.
